Dr. Richard S. Egly was Associate Scientific Director of the Research and Development Department at the Terre Haute, Indiana plane of the Commercial Solvents Corporation (CSC). CSC was started at the end of World War I as a joint U.S.-U.K. venture to provide the British with stockpiles of acetone, using the patents of Chaim Weizmann.
